Happy Halloween from wHoo Cares!

Halloween is a time for costumes, treats, and lots of fun. Here at wHoo Cares, we’d like to wish everyone a safe and happy evening of celebrations.

But while many enjoy the excitement of trick-or-treating, it’s important to remember that not every door will open. Some people in our community may choose not to answer the door because; they may feel anxious or uncomfortable with unexpected visitors or they could be more vulnerable and prefer to keep their home quiet and calm.

Tips for a Kinder Halloween:

  • If a house doesn’t have decorations or doesn’t answer the door simply move on with a smile.

  • Give space and time to anyone who needs it, not everyone can rush to the door or interact straight away.

  • Use Halloween as a chance to show kindness: a cheerful wave, a thank you, and respect for each household goes a long way.

Halloween should be about fun — but also about care and respect for our neighbours. By keeping this in mind, we can make sure it’s an enjoyable evening for everyone, whether they’re joining in or not.

From all of us at wHoo Cares, Happy Halloween!
