wHoo is Harry?

In the summer of 2021, wHoo Cares launched their #wHooIsHarry campaign where local people and businesses came together to promote awareness of wHoo Cares and what we do. Harry joined the team on 25th September 2021 and it was such a momentous day that The Mayor of Medway, Cllr Jan Aldous and her Consort, Mr Tony Aldous attended to welcome him onboard.

Harry is a mischievous member of the team but he is a fantastic conversation starter and amazing at raising awareness of how we help people living on the Hoo Peninsula. Often out and about in the community he is fast becoming an iconic figure.

wHere Is Harry?

Here we see Harry has snuck into Asda…… how he got in we have no idea, but he did join in Ann’s recruitment drive for volunteers. Ann did catch him trying to swap into a green shirt to blend in with Asda staff and put a stop to it.

Harry is considered like a member of the staff. Whilst he can be found, more often than not, keeping Pauline company, he insisted on a uniform. With that in mind, we gave him a wardrobe change. We’re not sure the baseball cap will make the uniform, but the look is definitely modern!

Harry spent most of the summer trying to drive our new minibus. Whilst he tried every trick in the book to get the keys. Tara eventually let him chaperone.

Harry loves to attend our groups and activities. Every week, we have the wHoo Cares walk & talk. A pleasant, accessible short walk for all.

Here he is at our weekly Activity Day in High Halstow. The ladies suspect he cheats at cards but what we know for sure is that he eats all the cake given a chance!

Harry was spotted locally knocking on people’s doors looking for sweets. We understand he’s hidden them in the office somewhere. Whilst Halloween can be fun for many (including us), we need to be mindful there are those out there that on their own, isolated or more anxious on this time of the year.

This time of the year is known for giving love to those important to you. Here we see Harry sparing time for things that matter to him… Biscuits.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
