Our Final History Board Installed on the Peninsula
After more than a year of planning, designing, and installing, we’re proud to share that the final history board has now been installed across the peninsula, completing a project made possible through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
In total, eight boards now stand proudly in our villages, each one celebrating the unique history and heritage of the area. You can find them in:
Chattenden
Cliffe Woods
Hoo
High Halstow
Lower Stoke
Allhallows
Isle of Grain
Upnor
This project has been about more than information boards, it’s about connecting people with the stories of their communities, preserving local heritage, and creating points of interest for both residents and visitors.
The boards have already sparked conversations, inspired curiosity, and encouraged people to look more closely at the history that surrounds us every day.
We’re incredibly proud to see the project complete and grateful to everyone who supported it along the way. Together, we’ve created something lasting that honours the past while enriching the present
